Network Engineer Responsibilities
In this role you will maintain multiple client's networks and systems by providing both scheduled on-site and remote/telephone support. You will install, configure, administer and maintain servers running Windows 2K8, Windows 2K3, SBS, Exchange, SQL Server and other related network hardware.
You will also be responsible to:
• Install, configure, administer, and maintain servers running clients specific vertical applications as necessary
• Install, configure, and maintain Windows desktops and applications
• Install, configure, administer, and maintain network devices including firewalls, routers, switches, and wireless devices
• Perform routine maintenance activities such as checking backups, inspecting log files, monitoring of systems via our remote monitoring tools, etc.
• Plan and execute roll-outs of new systems, updates and new software
• Install & manage Anti-Virus, setup POP3 email accounts, upgrade operating systems, troubleshoot applications such as firewalls, and wireless networks
• Document work performed
• Provide estimates for a wide variety of technical tasks along with supporting cost detail for any recommended hardware or software
• Maintain a high level of satisfaction from the customers in terms of the technical support received
• Maintain your own schedule of appointments with clients
• Advise clients on technology requirements
Job Qualifications:
• Must be a seasoned network professional providing systems support for network infrastructure, server hardware and software and client systems
• Experience deploying and maintaining Windows Server 2000/2003, Active Directory, Backup Software, Security Software (AV, SPAM, Spyware)
• Experience installing and maintaining Exchange Server 2000 and 2003
• Experience with VPN and firewall setup, remote support
• Minimum of 3 years experience with Microsoft server technologies.
• Knowledge and experience with enterprise infrastructure
• Demonstrated understanding of networking concepts in a LAN/WAN environment.
• Ability to troubleshoot servers, networking hardware, application software, workstations and printers
• Must be able to communicate with client and foster a sense of trust and knowledge with client. |
